Ehi, if u want to try is not a bad idea, but if I remember into our modding session we had some modder, they try lot of time to modify the various firmware but they are coded and was impossible to do something. But it costs nothing to try 😁..

you're right, those sites often contain malware, but the g400 is much newer than the u700. I hope you can find u700 in good condition, however if you buy one to be repaired and you need to ask for it, I'll help you gladly

I have kept 2 of u700 (if I remember correctly they are the evo version), I remember that the most complicated thing to replace was the flat of the screen, which broke easily while continuing to open and close the phone. if you need help with repairs i do them as a hobby, i can help you.
Talking about old phone models I remember, before smartphones arrived, the motorola a1000 and samsung omnia models.
But the only old phone I kept are the two u700, the Motorola a835 and another one I forgot the brand now, but I can send you the photos tomorrow 😁

This is the correct charger you need, is flat and thin, you can find it on eBay (5€) “search word , Samsung u700 charger”, for the data cable you can even find it on eBay with “u700 data cable” search word.
As I remember the Vodafone firmware is the only with you can install themes.

A way is to search on google the Vodafone firmware name, and if you are lucky you can find it.. for any questions just ask..

il firmware sarebbe il sistema operativo del cellulare (esempio windows per un pc) se tu aggiorni il telefono con un firmware nobrand (cioè senza marchio ne tim ne vodafone ecc ecc) il telefono diventa vergine, cioè non preconfigurato ad esempio da tim ecc. quindi non compare più la scritta 1254

Sicuro, con i driver qualcomm il cell viene riconosciuto dal pc. Ma kate tu hai ancora l'u700? Io il mio l'ho passato a mia sorella e sono entrato nel mondo Apple, beh che dire una figata! Poi ora sto creando un nuovo forum sul Vodafone ideos quello smartphone con android, l'ho regalato alla mia ragazza e non ci sono forum specializzati....
